If you have witnessed episodes, a video recording on your phone can be invaluable. Please bring this to your appointment if you have one.
We offer telehealth consultations to patients across Australia. You will need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and stable internet connection. We use Coviu — a secure Australian healthcare video platform that requires no download or account. You will receive a link by email or SMS before your appointment. More about our telehealth service →
If you have been referred for an EEG, please wash your hair the night before and avoid any hair products on the morning of your appointment. Take all medications as normal unless advised otherwise by your doctor. For sleep-deprived EEGs, you will receive specific instructions at the time of booking — please arrange a driver as you will not be able to drive afterwards. More about our EEG services →
Home video-EEG requires you to attend our Box Hill clinic for electrode application and equipment setup (approximately 60–90 minutes). You then return home and wear the recording equipment for 2 or 4 nights. Equipment is returned to our Box Hill clinic at the end of the study. More about home video-EEG →
If you live in rural or regional Victoria and need to travel more than 100km for a specialist appointment or home video-EEG, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Victorian Patient Transport Assistance Scheme (VPTAS). VPTAS subsidises travel costs (petrol, public transport, flights) and accommodation (up to $45/night) for eligible rural Victorians.
To apply, visit the VPTAS online portal via myGov or call 1300 737 073. Our specialist will sign the relevant section of the claim form confirming your treatment dates and accommodation requirements.
NSW patients may be eligible for assistance through the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS). Visit health.nsw.gov.au/iptaas for more information.
We accept Medicare, and out-of-pocket fees may apply depending on the type of consultation or service. Reduced gap billing is available for Indigenous Australians. Please contact our rooms to discuss your circumstances before your appointment.
In Australia, driving regulations after a seizure vary by state and territory. Your neurologist will advise you on the regulations that apply to your situation and can provide the required medical certificates. Do not drive until you have spoken with your neurologist.
Your health information is managed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. Please contact our rooms if you require a copy of your records.

First appointments usually take 45–60 minutes. A summary letter is sent to your referring doctor within 5 business days.
EEG services attract a Medicare rebate. Reduced gap billing is available for eligible patients, including Indigenous Australians registered under the Closing the Gap program. For other patients, an out-of-pocket gap fee applies. Please contact our rooms for current fees and to discuss eligibility before your appointment.
